Every Smoothie collection starts in a slightly chaotic place - scraps of ideas, images that stick in my mind, shapes I keep sketching over and over without knowing why. But Frost Yourself was different. It started with one very clear, very indulgent thought:
What would it look like if every piercing on your ear melted into one continuous, luxurious stream of light?
Not sparkle in the traditional sense.
Not “festive jewellery.”
But a look that felt like you were dripping in diamonds - cool, fluid, expensive.
Why the Marquise Became the Backbone
Once the concept of “melting light” landed, the marquise cut felt like the only shape that could carry it.
If you’ve never fallen down a jewellery-history rabbit hole (I have), here’s the fun part: the marquise was originally created in the 18th century to resemble the lips of the Marquise de Pompadour, mistress of King Louis XV.
The marquise has this natural flow to it. When placed in sequence, it becomes a soft drip. When curved around a hoop, it looks like liquid light. When stacked vertically along the ear, it forms a strip of shine that feels intentional and flattering.
Exactly the visual language of “dripping in diamonds.”

The Name That Started as a Joke and Became the One
If you’ve watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, you’ll know exactly where the phrase “Frost Yourself” comes from. It’s one of my favourite films - and in the movie, they’re talking about real, actual diamonds.
But I’ve always loved the whimsy of it.
The indulgence.
The slightly over-the-top “go on, treat yourself” energy.
So when we were designing this collection, the phrase popped into my head and just… stuck. There was something about reclaiming that over-the-top diamond fantasy and turning it into everyday luxury you can wear in your ear stack that felt very Smoothie 2.0.
Turning a Feeling Into Physical Jewellery
From there, the design process became about refining that fluidity into wearable pieces.
We played with proportions so the stones flashed like ice rather than glittered. We thickened the silhouettes of the hoops to feel more elevated, less teeny huggies, more grown-up confidence. We polished the metal until it looked almost molten.
Every detail needed to feel like it was part of one movement, not individual pieces fighting for attention. The goal was luxury that feels effortless. A stack that looks like it was designed together, not collected over time.

The Shoot: Building a World Around the Jewellery
Once the designs were final, the next challenge was creating a world that matched them.
We shot at Kettner’s in Soho - a space that already feels like old-Hollywood glamour without being cliché. Marble tables, moody lighting, silverware that reflects just enough. It set the stage for jewellery that feels like it belongs in a room full of candlelight and velvet textures.
We wanted the images to feel like moments, not product shots. Jewellery that glows because you glow.

At its core, Frost Yourself isn’t really about diamonds.
It’s about what happens when your jewellery becomes part of your presence.
When your ear catches the light and people notice - not because it’s loud, but because it’s undeniably elegant.
We hope you love it as much as we do!
